John Frerichs
Associate Financial Planner

John serves as an Associate Financial Planner at Bluestem, where he partners with clients and advisors to deliver thoughtful, personalized financial planning. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Tax Planning Certified Professional (TPCP®) designation, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and helping clients navigate the complexities of financial decision-making.

John graduated from the University of Illinois Gies College of Business in 2022 with a degree in Finance. He believes that effective financial planning is ultimately about aligning financial resources with what matters most, helping individuals and families make intentional decisions that support the life they want to build. He has a particular interest in the behavioral side of money and how the way we think about our finances can either support or hinder the pursuit of what matters most.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, family, and friends. He can often be found on the golf course, playing basketball, watching movies, or cheering on the Fighting Illini and Chicago Cubs. Driven by a natural curiosity, he also enjoys learning about history and science and is currently studying German.
