MaryBess is deeply committed to creating client experiences that feel thoughtful, clear, and genuinely supportive. As Director of Client Services, she leads the people, processes, and communication that guide clients from onboarding through long‑term relationships, helping turn complex processes into clear, thoughtful experiences that make people feel confident, respected, and genuinely cared for.
Much of MaryBess’s work happens behind the scenes, where she builds strong teams, refines workflows, assists in the daily business operations, and ensures details are handled with intention. Her efforts help create an experience where clients feel informed and at ease and where team members feel supported and empowered to do their best work. She is naturally people‑oriented, which means she’s often the one asking, “How does this feel from the client’s perspective?” or “Is there a better, more human way to do this?”.
MaryBess received her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and before joining Bluestem in 2014, spent five years as the assistant business manager for a local religious organization. MaryBess was born and raised in Champaign-Urbana and has a passion for community service, serving on several committees for local non-profits. MaryBess currently lives in Champaign with her twins. In her free time, she likes to travel, cook, volunteer, and express her creative side.
